Bulb Tubular unit,in order to overcome the problem of difficult sealing technology for the full Tubular unit, Escher Wyss company proposed a new design scheme in 1933,which seal the generator  in a container and place it in the front flow channel of the turbine, and officially obtained the patent in the same year. The first unit was installed at the Rostin power station  in Poland in 936 and was successfully put into production. The capacity of this unit is 195kW, the diameter of runner is 1.95m and the head is 3.7m.  The shape of its generator is similar to the shape of an incandescent bulb, thus it is called  bulb tubular unit.

TC HYDRO can produce shaft extension Tubular turbine and Bulb Tubular turbine.This turbine operates in the river with low head and large discharge, thus corrosion resistance performance requirement of the runner is high. TC HYDRO can choose material of runner according to water quality provided by the customers, and the runner is used for high quality alloy steel casting.
