After the Austrian developed the Kaplan turbine from the Francis turbine, he first showed this turbine to the public in 1913. BEST APPLICATION
Applicable head of Kaplan turbine is between 2 to 30m.This turbine is vertical shaft device, and has open channel, open channel with pressure and closed(that is concrete spiral casing).Structure of runner is ordinarily fixed blade(or manual movable blade), draft tube has straight cone tube and elbow tube, and the draft tube is straight cone tube which diameter of runner is below 1000mm.This type is suitable for the hydropower station with smaller head and load change.
